New boy Doug lights up Dalyer
DOUGLAS James-Taylor announced himself to the Dalymount Park faithful last night in style — but his strike partner James Clarke stole the headlines with a classy brace.
Clarke now has four goals in his last four games.
He could have had another couple last night, but for some fine first-half goalkeeping by Galway United shot-stopper Evan Watts.
Bohs were the better side in a first-half that struggled to catch fire on the hottest day of the year so far.
Galway’s penalty area resembled any one of their county's golden beaches on such a glorious day, with little free space for a frustrated home attack to create opportunities.
It was a different story shortly after the break, however, after James-Taylor broke the deadlock, with a stunning long-range drive on the spin.
Suddenly gaps appeared and Clarke was only to happy to capitalise, with a pair of excellent finishes.
Such a comfortable margin of victory looked unlikely at the break.
Galway had been to Dalymount already this season and their win, courtesy of goals from recent departure Moses Dyer, compounded the pressure on Alan Reynolds.
