BOHS BOSS REYNOLDS ON LOWEST MOMENT IN THE GAME
ALAN REYNOLDS has opened up for the first time about the lowest moment of his managerial career when his own supporters turned against him.
The former Waterford boss was handed a new contract by the Bohs board earlier this week, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.
And it was richly deserved as he has lifted the Gypsies to second in the Premier Division table.
But no-one could have predicted this happening in the early stages of this season when they slumped to five defeats from their first seven games and briefly occupied ninth spot in the table.
Then in April they trailed bitter rivals Shamrock Rovers 2-0 at Tallaght Stadium having already lost six of their opening 10 league games, prompting Rovers fans to chant: “Youre getting sacked in the morning’
If that was bad, worse was to follow. The Bohs fans joined in the chorus.
Some even left the stadium early, missing the most dramatic comeback between these sides since 2001, as Bohs turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 win.
Reynolds (left) said: “Standing there, that was the lowest point. To hear them join in with each other was tough.
“It meant I could not enjoy the win afterwards. I felt so flat. And that was wrong, I should have enjoyed it. I regret not doing so.
