Innocent victims 'targeted over family ties to drug dealer'

An Garda Siochana has launched a murder probe and confirmed the fire was deliberately started, describing it as “a reckless, callous and murderous attack on a family home”.

The bodies of the deceased were removed from the property yesterday and postmortems will be conducted at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore by Assistant State Pathologist Margaret Bolster.

A senior investigating officer is leading the inquiry from an incident room in Tullamore Garda Station, and a family liaison officer has been appointed to support relatives.
