Gratitude for support from Ireland

A Lieutenant's Guard of Honour took place at Government Buildings as President Zelensky was welcomed with the Ukrainian and Irish anthems.

President Zelensky then attended a bilateral meeting with Taoiseach Micheal Martin.

Welcoming President Zelensky to his first official state visit, the Taoiseach said Ireland will support Ukraine for “as long as it takes” and he wished his trip was under “different, happier circumstances”.

Mr Martin reiterated the support Ireland has in place for Ukraine, including the approval of an extra €125m for the country.
