Galway the dearest for winter trip

GALWAY, not Dublin, is now the most expensive city in Ireland to head on your Christmas shopping trip - once you add travel costs, food and drink and/or a 3 star hotel for the night, it comes in at around €168 for a typical shopper.

Casino.org Ireland put together a new data-led look at where in Ireland it's now most expensive to grab some presents.

Limerick is the best value at roughly €135, meaning people there are paying about €30-€33 extra by choosing Galway over Limerick for the exact same kind of day.
