Don't down tools on your mental health

MEN'S health expert Richie Sadlier has urged tradespeople to look after their mental wellbeing.

The former Ireland soccer star, 45, is known as an RTE pundit but he is also a qualified psychotherapist.

He partnered with builders' merchants Chadwick's last year to encourage men to share emotions or to talk about issues.

A new survey and the firm's How's The Head? campaign are aiming to equip tradespeople with the tools to improve mental health.

Brand ambassador Richie, who struggled with alcohol addiction in the past, has already helped teenagers in his TV show Let's Talk About Sex.

Now he is turning his attention to those in the trades.

Richie told us: "The focus is to normalise talking and getting help.
