Cathy reveals impact cancer had on family

AUTHOR Cathy Kelly has said her mother took her cancer diagnosis hard.

In 2023, her doctors told her she had breast cancer but she has remained upbeat and positive.

But the best-selling author admitted mum Gay found it hard to come to terms with her illness.

Cathy, 58, said: "Especially when I lost my hair. I cut it myself, gave myself a buzzcut. It was a fun thing to do, although the rest of them thought it was a bit sad.
