Dublin back to its old self at last

I MADE a trip home to Dublin earlier this month and it finally seems like the city has come back to life.

Despite the inclination to think the grass is always greener at home, every trip to Ireland since moving stateside two years ago left me feeling the city had lost itself.

It felt like a ghost town that never recovered after the pandemic.

There were just so few people around. The city was cleared out.

No atmosphere and no life to what should be a hustling and bustling European capital.

Poverty and homelessness was more apparent than ever. Everything seemed more expensive, making it even less enticing to spend time in Dublin city.

And, with all of that, came a sense of uneasiness walking through the city with not a soul in it.
