Albanians call Zefi to Under-21s

KEVIN ZEFI has officially been called up to Albania's Under-21 squad in a move that could cause ructions.

FIFA may come down on the Albanian FA if Ireland Under-21 international Zefi plays for them in friendlies against Greece and Luxembourg this week.

Zefi (inset), on the books of Roma, is still tied to Ireland having played for the Boys in Green all the way up from Under-15 to Under-21 level.

But born in Dublin to Albanian parents, he has regularly been linked with a change of allegiance to Albania.

Switching countries is not straightforward, yet there have been strong rumours of developments in this international window.
