Cyber attack chaos at airport may spill over into third day
Irish Daily Mirror
|September 22, 2025
IT was another day of misery for travellers at Dublin Airport yesterday with over a dozen flights cancelled by midday, amid fears the disruption could also run into today.
The country's biggest airport faced a second day of disruption to its check-in and baggage drop in Terminal 2 following Saturday's cyber attack which impacted several airports across Europe.
Aer Lingus confirmed the incident had "significantly impacted operations", with 13 flights cancelled as of midday yesterday.
Of these, nine were inbound flights, with four outbound.
It’s understood that a number of IT experts from the US flew to Dublin last night to check the airport’s check-in systems.
In a statement the airline said: “We are communicating with impacted customers and are advising passengers to check their SMS and our website for the latest updates.
