Rovers win at a canter against threadbare Salford

This was the simple win many had predicted, with the Robins simply too big and too strong for a Salford side down to the bare bones and ultimately no match for Rovers, who will hope an injury suffered by Oliver Gildart will not prevent him from playing in the Challenge Cup semi-final this week.

Two changes saw Noah Booth given a first run-out in KR colours while Eribe Doro made his first Super League appearance. They replaced the injured Kelepi Tanginoa and rested Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

It didn’t take long for it to become apparent this would be a physical mis-match. Rovers punched holes through Salford from the get-go and almost took the lead in the opening five minutes, but the Reds successfully overturned a try awarded to James Batchelor after it emerged that he had knocked on.
