O TIDINGS of comfort and joy... are lyrics from just one of the many carols you might hear from this year’s production, Oliver Twist at Hull Truck Theatre.

Set in the Victorian era, a time when known for adding something extra to the celebrations of Christmas, this production will present a story about kindness, family and hope.

Christmas for many is a time to come together and celebrate the joy of storytelling, entertainment and a good old sing along, and what better place to experience all three, then a trip to the theatre.

Local actor, Jessica Jolleys says: “For me, Oliver is all about perseverance in the face of adversity and hopefulness. It also reflects on Victorian life and showcases a pocket of history in true Dickensian style which I find so fascinating.

The show has Christmas carols, a story of hope, music, laughter and fun - what could be more Christmassy than that!”
