PMI touches 7-month high of 61.5 in February

Business activity in India, measured by the HSBC Flash Purchasing Managers Index (PMI), has touched a seven-month high of 61.5 in February, according to a statement from S&P Global Research. These numbers suggest that economic momentum continues to be strong in the economy and might even have improved compared to what it was in January.
Flash PMIs are released a few days before the actual PMI numbers and they include more than three-fourths of the responses that go into the calculation of final PMIs. India became only the eighth country in the world to launch a Flash PMI reading in January this year.
The manufacturing and services flash PMIs came in at 56.7 and 62 in February, respectively, marginally more than the final print of 56.5 and 61.8 for January, according to the statement.
