Results are top-class in 17 schools

Seventeen educational establishments were inspected in South Lanarkshire during 2024-25 and their ratings were higher than a host of other local authorities.

Seven primary schools experienced the full model for inspection, and three of those primary schools had nursery classes.

Six primary school inspections experienced the short inspection model, with one of those primary schools having a nursery class.

And three secondary schools experienced the short model for inspection while one high school experienced the full model for inspection.

A comparative analysis which scrutinises the council's establishment inspection outcomes with some other local authorities demonstrates that South Lanarkshire’s current inspection profile continues to be positive, with 95.3 per cent of outcomes for the inspected quality indicators as 'good, 'very good' or 'excellent'.
