Dubai records 36.8% drop in road fatalities

Dubai achieved a 36.8 percent decrease in road traffic fatalities per 100,000 residents in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
This accomplishment highlights the effectiveness of Dubai's traffic management system and the success of proactive safety initiatives designed to safeguard road users and enhance overall safety measures.
Data from the General Department of Traffic highlights ongoing positive trends. Pedestrian fatalities have dropped by 50 per cent, while deaths resulting from collisions have decreased by 44 per cent during the same period. These figures reflect substantial progress in tackling critical road safety issues.
The findings were analysed during the fourth quarter of 2025 performance evaluation meeting, led by Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Sector Affairs.
