'THEY HAVE NO IMPACT ON WINTER BUGS'

HEALTH bosses in the Humber region are reminding people taking antibiotics will not make a difference against many of the winter bugs currently circulating.

Clinical leaders in the area are urging the public to “play a vital role in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR)”.

Taking antibiotics when they are not needed means they can end up being less effective in the future when they are. Common infections at this time of the year, such as colds and flu, are viruses.
