Towns gain coach-friendly status to boost economy

EAST Devon has become one of the country’s most coach-friendly areas after three more towns secured a new accreditation.

Honiton, Seaton and Sidmouth have all been given coach-friendly status by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT), which helps highlight locations that welcome coach tourism.
This means East Devon District Council now has four locations - including Exmouth - with the accreditation, the most towns with such an accolade of any council in England.
Councillor Del Haggerty, who has been spearheading the project, said he was “over the moon”.
“It’s a great incentive for tourism and it will increase footfall in those areas,” he said.
