HERE are events galore lined up for families next week as schools close for half-term.

The Devon Association of Tourist Attractions has released details of events organised by some of its members, with everything from animal encounters and creative crafts to outdoor adventures and magical trails.

Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum is offering some workshops including Flappers and Fedoras on May 27. Channel your inner gangster, sleuthing PI or dashing adventurer and make your very own cardboard fedora. On May 28, dance into the glamorous world of 1920s era Art Deco to unleash your creativity and try your hand at creating your own outlandish design - then print it onto a tote bag to take home! Both workshops run from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Buy tickets in the shop. And on May 29 travel back in time and meet characters from the past as you walk around the museum.

You can also cruise along the oldest working shipping canal in Europe with Stuart Line Cruises. The trip will sail through eight miles of manmade waterway and make use of two manually oper-ated locks. Available on various dates - check the website for info. Plus on May 31 and June 1 enjoy possibly the best view of the English Riviera Airshow! An all-day cruise, departing Exmouth Marina, will sail along South Devon’s dramatic coast-line to the English Riviera Geopark to watch the sights in the sky above.
