ROB Baxter revealed he read the riot act to his Exeter Chiefs side in the Sandy Park dressing rooms post-match despite them beating a second-string Northampton Saints side 42-14 on Sunday in the 2024-25 Gallagher Premiership.
Ahead of their Champions Cup final date with Bordeaux in Cardiff in a fortnight’s time, Saints boss Phil Dowson rested almost his entire first-choice line-up, but Chiefs still made hard work of it on the pitch, with director of rugby Baxter looking for a big response after Chiefs’ record 79-17 defeat away at Gloucester in their last league outing.
That result saw the departure of two of their coaches, with Baxter returning to a more hands on approach to coaching.
