ARSON OUTJIE IN COURT

THE man accused of trying to burn his meisie and a vrag other mense alive in a Heideveld flat at the week- end appeared in Athlone Magistrate's Court on attempted murder charges yesterday.

Imeraan Lemmert, 28, stands accused after he allegedly threw petrol on his girlfriend and others who were in the flat.

As one of the men in the flat lit an entjie, the place caught fire and Lemmert allegedly fled after locking the security gate and throwing away the keys. His girlfriend, whose name is known to the Daily Voice, previously told us that they had an argument after he accused her of sleeping with one of their chommies.
