POLICE are investigating a murder after a man's body was discovered on the railway line in Bonteheuwel on Monday, sending shockwaves through the community.

Ward Councillor Angus Mckenzie confirmed that the man is not connected to a gang or any local gang activity.

Mckenzie said: "The motive behind the killing of an adult male on the Bonteheuwel train line, between Bonteheuwel and Netreg stations, remains unknown at this stage.

"The murder took place early on Monday morning. At this point, it is believed that the victim was not connected to any local gang activity.
