What should I eat and drink to help boost my immune system?

Plenty of fruit and veg, ideally five or more portions a day. The more colour on your plate, the better. Protein-rich foods like eggs, lentils, fish, nuts and lean meats help repair cells and support your immune defences. Healthy fats, especially omega-3s from oily fish like salmon help reduce inflammation. Consider a vitamin D supplement of 10 micrograms a day from October to March. Warm drinks like herbal teas, soups and hot water with lemon and ginger can soothe your throat and keep your fluids up.

Is it true that vitamin C helps prevent or cure a cold?
