England must unleash Jofra & Co from the off to wrestle Urn back, says legend Phil
ENGLAND must abandon any thoughts of mothballing Jofra Archer and unleash him at Australia every chance they get.
The England chiefs have rationed how much cricket their fast-bowling spearhead has played since his comeback from long-term injury.
But former England star Phil Tufnell believes that when The Ashes starts in the early hours of Friday morning, they have to go hard at Australia from the first ball and never ease up.
That means playing Archer - and fellow pace ace Mark Wood - for as long as their bodies will hold up.
Tufnell said: "I'd look to play England's best team for as long as they can. Try to get yourself into the series. I wouldn't be saving anyone.
"What's the point of planning for guys to play in Tests two, three and five? When you're in an Ashes series planning often goes out of the window.
