Young men in Scotland more likely to be poor

YOUNG men are more likely to live in poverty in Scotland than elsewhere in the UK, a “startling” report has warned.

Experts said 22 per cent of men aged 18-24 are struggling to make ends meet after paying for housing, up from 19 per cent in 2020.

The rise is not mirrored by Scots women of the same age, prompting questions as to why men are falling behind.
