'Hand over payoff to help girls'
Daily Record
|February 09, 2026
PETER Mandelson last night faced calls to hand back a golden goodbye payoff or give it to charity.
-
The shamed former ambassador is understood to have received a five-figure sum when he was sacked after revelations about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden, below, demanded: "Either give it back or give it to charity. Perhaps one involving violence against women and girls."
Mandelson picked up three months’ salary when he was removed as ambassador to the White House in September, it is believed. This could be as much as £55,000 before tax.
