Historic venue's owner accused duty gaffer of liking 'white people better'

THE boss of a historic pub has been ordered to pay £18,000 to a white female worker he racially discriminated against before unfairly sacking her.

Ahmed Soliman told Sky Sinclair, who was duty manager at the Old Toll Bar in Glasgow's Kinning Park, she “liked white people better”.

He also said to 34-year-old aspiring actress Sky, who had been working at one of the city’s oldest watering holes for around a year: “You look very Aryan with your blue eyes.”

An employment tribunal was also told how he asked Sky “how was Germany?”, leaving her feeling she was being accused of being “racist or being associated with Nazi ideology”.
