All isn't rosy at Parkhead.. and yet Bren is on to rival boss No.12

- MICHAEL GANNON

THE Celtic Opus released a few years ago clocks in at a door-stopping 1000 pages.

But there would be a good few more trees required for the big bumper book of blockbuster Brendan Rodgers quotes.

The Hoops boss has come out with some memorable crackers across his two spells in charge.

One line in particular comes to mind- usually every autumn.

This time of year is sacking season over at Rangers and it's hard not to look directly across the city every time a Gers gaffer is left in the car park clutching a bin bag with his belongings.

Rodgers was famously asked about the perceived threat from Philippe Clement after seeing off the Belgian's side in a festive derby.

Back in 2023, he said: "Over my two spells here I have worked against five Rangers managers and every time Rangers were coming, every time, at some point.

"So for me, it is normal. If I listened to media and press, then we would be in constant crisis mode or constant fear of Rangers. But it is the fifth manager now so, for me, my focus is only on Celtic and concentrating very much on here." And here we are are again.

Rangers are looking for a new man and the Ibrox side could well be coming once more.

Rodgers won't be losing too much kip.

Russell Martin was the 11th manager in the Gers dugout he'll have gone up against - one for every trophy he's lifted in his stints at Celtic.

The first one to cop it was Mark Warburton. The Englishman started his Premiership campaign with 'Going for 55' displays at Ibrox but was blown away by storm Brendan's Invincibles.
