Sutton can't see path out of civil war fog

LIKE A CHAT OUT OF HELL

SO much for clear-the-air talks. Monday night's Parkhead summit has only added to the pollution.

Celtic chiefs hoped inviting a fans' delegation into the tent for a chat might have taken some of the tension out of the current stand-off.

But, by the looks of it, the pow wow has only firmed up the battle lines in this standoff that's continued to escalate since the summer.

The Celtic Fans Collective group's statement suggested more action in terms of protests in the coming weeks after they failed to get the answers or accountability they wanted to hear, insisting the big meeting has only fuelled their desire for change at the top of the club.

Then came the club's response, with a statement of their own, admitting mistakes were made in the transfer window and lessons had to be learned.

It was the kind of missive that might have been more advisable than the wine o'clock effort released late on a Saturday evening a few weeks ago, but also appeared to be in direct contradiction to the Collective version of events. It's all a bit of a mess and former Celtic star Chris Sutton admitted he can't see a path through the civil war crazy fog any time soon.
