Wallace's bath death was avoidable

THE family of a dad scalded to death in a boiling hot bath have blasted negligent hotel managers for "ignoring warnings".
Wallace Hunter, 75, a retired precision engineer, died from third-degree burns to 83 per cent of his body following the horror accident at Pitlochry Hydro Hotel in Perthshire.
Wallace, of Eaglesham, East Renfrewshire, had gone for the bath while his wife Janice packed their bags in December 2019.
Shortly after, a guest in the room below raised the alarm after seeing hot water “cascading” down.
After learning Wallace was stuck in the bathroom, his wife and hotel guests tried to batter the door down. Firefighters eventually gained access.
