BAIRN UP Leon has to adapt on and off the pitch

- BY ALAN ROBERTSON

LEON MCCANN heard the Falkirk end erupt at Pittodrie a fortnight ago - and has opened up on the “life-changing” news that his wee boy may soon get to soak it all up too.

Bairns fans may have sung the left-back's name a fair few times in his four-plus years rising through the divisions with the club, but son Brooks has never heard his voice, having been born profoundly deaf in March.

McCann, 25, opened up to PFA Scotland in July on the subject to help other families after he and his partner were left feeling confused and alone in the first instance.

They've since raised £5000 after starting the process to create charity B Heard to support families in accessing communication tools their deaf children need.

Now McCann has revealed Falkirk’s first topflight win in 15 years up at Aberdeen was simply the icing on an incredible cake.

He said: “When I leave here every Tuesday, I go to sign language courses.

“Me and my partner are trying to learn that, which is quite difficult for the wee man.
