JENS BERTHEL ASKOU spared his Motherwell players a video nasty of their defeat by St Mirren in a bid to get over their Hampden heartache.

Fir Park boss Askou's side had lost just twice this season - each by one goal - before the 4-1 Premier Sports Cup semifinal defeat to Saints. And he opted not to show a rerun in an effort to ensure the Steelmen bounce back quickly from last weekend's knockout blow when they face Aberdeen at Pittodrie in the Premiership tomorrow.
