Towie Gemma has shot at redemption. Bev Callard on top form after cancer op
EX-TOWIE star Gemma Collins is hoping to lay her I'm a Celebrity demons to rest after she was confirmed as one of the 12 all-stars vying for legendary status in the second series shot in South Africa.
Having only lasted three days on her 2014 stint in the Australian jungle, the Essex girl jumped at the chance of reality telly redemption.
And for former Corrie favourite Beverley Callard, the main series and the one-off live finale to be filmed in London come either side of her breast cancer surgery.
Speaking at the launch event, she said: "What do you do when you can't put a bra on because you're still sore and you still have wounds?"
Gemma and Beverley were joined in South Africa by Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, former boxer David Haye, Red Dwarf and Coronation Street's Craig Charles, comedian Seann Walsh, pop star Sinitta, Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah, Corrie star Adam Thomas, plus football funnymen Jimmy Bullard and Harry Redknapp.
Gemma, 45, said signing up for the second time had been "a million per cent the best decision I've ever made".
She added: "I spent my whole life with this black cloud hanging over my head, it was the one regret I had. I was bricking it, petrified. My makeup artist slapped me at Heathrow Airport because I said, 'I don't think I can go through with this'. But I took a deep breath, I went in strong and to be honest I think I shut it down.
