ANTI-POVERTY CHARITY FEEDS THREE MILLION

A SCOTS charity which provides meals to school pupils in povertyhit countries is feeding three million children every day after it scaled up its aid operation.

Mary’s Meals, which started from a shed in Dalmally, Argyll, in 2002, now gives meals to kids in 16 countries.

Having started off feeding just 200 people, founder Magnus MacFarlaneBarrow says he “could never have imagined” the operation's scale now.

He founded the charity after visiting Malawi during a famine, where he met a mum who was dying from Aids and her son Edward. Edward told the founder his dream was “to have enough food to eat and to go to school one day”.
