Parkinson: I've managed over 1,000 games ...l don't listen to outside talk

REXHAM boss Phil Parkinson has hit back at his doubters, insisting he has paid no attention to speculation about his future.

Reports emerged last week the manager's job could be under threat following a disappointing set of results from Wrexham’s opening five games in the Championship, which left them 21st in the table, just above the relegation zone.

Parkinson's team responded by coming from behind to win 3-2 away at Norwich on Saturday, as two goals from Josh Windass and one from Ryan Longman lifted them up to 15th.

The result will have eased some of the pressure on Parkinson, who has led the Red Dragons to three consecutive promotions in the last few years.

Speaking after the match, the 57-year-old said his experience in the game had taught him not to take notice of external noise.

“First of all, I don’t listen to any outside talk,’ he said. “I don’t know where that [speculation] came from but I've had nothing but unbelievable support from everybody.
