New A55 roadside services planned to 'relieve pressure'

A PLAN for new services on the side of the A55 has been submitted to planners.

Under the proposal the Dragon’s Rest Cafe on Junction 31 for Caerwys would be demolished to make way for the new development.
The cafe has been closed since 2023. The redeveloped site would include a petrol filling station, fuel dispensers and canopy, underground storage tanks, store and coffee shop.
Longacres Filing Station Ltd are behind the scheme with a full application now submitted to Flintshire council.
