Edwards or Evans set to replace Costello

MATT Sherratt revealed that either Dan Edwards or Jarrod Evans could start in Sam Costelow's absence for Friday's night Six Nations clash with Ireland.

Costelow started against Scotland, but limped off after 54 minutes with an ankle injury. While Wales hold out hope he could feature against Italy, he won't be involved this Friday.

Harlequins fly-half Evans has been the bench option for the past two matches, but hasn't started a game for Wales since the summer of 2021.

As for Edwards, the Ospreys 10 had started the last seven Tests before the Scotland game.

On the impression that Evans is seen more as an impact player, Sherratt said: “I don’t think that's been anything we've talked about massively.
