Pub that's lifeline for regulars at risk of closure

A COMMUNITY club which has been a vital hub for local residents may have to finally close its doors.

Jackie Cosgrave, licensee of The Railway Club in Stretford, Manchester, says that most of her loyal regulars are over the age of 70.

She said: "I know every single one of the members, I know their names, I know their life stories.

Referring to the classic Eagles song, she joked: "We're like the Hotel California – because no one ever leaves."

Even her staff have worked at the club a long time, with her eldest barman aged 83.
