Pep blast at City for not trying
Daily Mirror UK
|November 29, 2025
PEP GUARDIOLA has accused his players of not trying as they crashed to a shock defeat against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
And the Manchester City boss claimed he had learned lessons from the 2-0 reverse at the Etihad after making 10 changes to his starting line-up.
"We know the competitions are tough," said Guardiola. "It is not about one result, it is in the performance.
"Of course, results help performances but I'm not very disappointed about Newcastle (a 2-1 defeat). The last one, yeah, because of my decisions and because we didn't try, it's as simple as that."
