Family cut price of Captain Tom's home by £250,000
CAPTAIN Sir Tom Moore's family have slashed £250,000 off the price of their country mansion and pictures of the fundraising hero no longer appear in the online listing.
They had tried to sell the sprawling seven-bed mansion for £2.25m last year.
In the listing, a photo of Captain Tom being knighted by the late Queen in 2020 was visible. And a bust recreating the moment he finished his multi-million-pound fundraising walk during the pandemic was also seen in a photo of the hallway.
The family pulled the property off the open market amid a backlash at their handling of the charity set up in his name. But now the property in Marston Moretaine, Beds, is back up for grabs for offers in excess of £2m - with no sign of Capt Tom in the images.
The listing makes no mention of his charity heroics and does not name his daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore, 53, and husband Colin, 66.
