THIS column will continue to champion humanity, at a time when the country is in real danger of being consumed by hate.

- DARREN LEWIS

It's Keir's job to spread truth and unite us - not lies

I'll focus on the good people of York who rocked up to repaint the Dragon House Chinese restaurant over the weekend, after racists defaced it with graffiti, telling the owners to “go home”.

On the counter-protesters who stood their ground in Crawley on Sunday, as hundreds, fed with lies and propaganda, gathered for anti-immigration protests.

On the local people of all races, offering support to the crying children and mothers, terrified at the baying mobs outside the migrant hotels around the country.

This - and the many other examples - represents our faint pulse of unity, still beating with the country in a critical condition.

Because despite the best efforts of the Conservatives and Reform, the corporate lobbying firm masquerading as a political party, millions of people across the UK don't want to hate.
