Obsessed with jigsaw puzzles as children, siblings Rachael, 31, and James Hattam, 28, from Bermondsey, South East London, thought it would make sense to set up a puzzle business.
-
The pair are now bracing themselves for the busiest time of the year for The Original Jigsaw Co. We speak to James about how it started.
What do you do?
We create unique, intricately illustrated jigsaws. Properly original stuff - jam-packed with detail, humour, and hidden easter eggs. Imagine piecing together a scene that keeps surprising you long after you think you've finished. That's us! We've been in business just over three years and it's been equal parts exciting, chaotic, and “what on earth are we doing?”.
Is this all that you both do?
This is us, full time, 365 days a year. You could say we're professional puzzlers - our parents are proud/confused as to what to tell their friends we do. Before launching, Rachael worked as an illustrator and designer, and I did a medley of jobs while trying to fund my freelance photography business.
Who does what?
