A FATHER who came to the UK in the back of a lorry 26 years ago says he is "deeply hurt" after his fish and chip shop was targeted in a wave of anti-immigration protests.

- BY LUCY THORNTON

Mohammed “Darin” Ahmed, 47, was horrified when he arrived at the Poseidon Fish Bar to find the shutter had the word “England” daubed on it in white paint.

The businessman, who has three children aged nine, seven and three, fled Iraq to escape dictator Saddam Hussein almost three decades ago.

He says he loves England but is now fearful for the future.

Darin, of Doncaster, South Yorks, said: “This is very hurtful. People are being brainwashed by the likes of Nigel Farage. Of all the shops, they targeted me.
