Star says milestone's not a worry... but empty nest is

His football career was filled with milestones; his debut for Manchester United, his first England cap, his first Premier League title.

Twelve years on from his retirement as a player, David Beckham is now approaching a new life landmark - turning 50 on May 2.

He tells Men's Health it "does not bother me one bit". But although he shows no signs of slowing down - maintaining a vigorous fitness regime - it does appear to be a time to reflect as he prepares for the last of his kids to leave home.

"We're not quite there yet but it's actually painful - we've gone from having four in the house to one (Harper)," says Becks, who even misses them leaving their wet towels lying about. "What I would give to have that back and be able to walk in, moaning to them about it.

"That said, my boys are pretty good. They'll always ask me to the pub when they go with their mates."
