Mum's words at Southport inquiry

A HEROIC girl was stabbed multiple times while using her body to shield her little sister from Southport triple killer Axel Rudakubana.

Her story was told for the first time yesterday to an inquiry into the attack on July 29 last year.

Despite having been stabbed in the chest, the girl saw “pure terror” on her sister’s face and dragged her to safety while the knifeman's blows rained down.

Her mum said: “Our eldest explained he had attacked others before turning on her. He stabbed her in her chest and then, as she tried to defend herself, her arm. He then stood over her younger sister, with the knife raised.
