Teen killer 'followed Holly, 15, around town before fatal stabbing'

A TEENAGER tailed a 15-year-old girl for 45 minutes before stabbing her to death in an alley, a jury heard.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be identified due to his age, inflicted 36 wounds on Holly Newton in under a minute, prosecutors said yesterday.
The youth, now 17, admits manslaughter but denies murder.
Opening the prosecution case at Newcastle Crown Court, David Brooke KC said Holly was walking around a town centre with friends after school on January 27 last year, when the group was followed by the teenager.
He said the boy, who knew Holly, left school early and went to Hexham, Northumberland, where he tracked the group "from a distance".
