Suspect held as migrants brought into UK across the Irish border

A PEOPLE trafficker accused of smuggling migrants into Northern Ireland has been arrested following a three-day Home Office sting.

In total, more than 30 people were arrested, £400,000 in cash was seized and 10 fake IDs were confiscated.

One Hungarian was held for assisting unlawful immigration while a Somali wanted on suspicion of murder was seized and will be extradited to Denmark.

Those held for entering the UK illegally included seven Albanians, four Romanians and three Georgians plus one each from Iran, Syria, Sudan, China and Bulgaria.
