Neville: Angry white men have hijacked Union flag
Daily Express
|October 06, 2025
FORMER England star Gary Neville has blamed “angry middle-aged white men” for creating rifts in society.
The manager-turned-pundit claimed the public is “being turned on each other”, in a video posted on social media.
Neville, a Labour supporter who captained Manchester United, said he was worried that the Union flag was being “used in a negative fashion”. He also highlighted the “defiant” Manchester Jewish community after the local synagogue attack.
He said in a film on Linkedin: “I was driving to Salford City, going down Littleton Road seeing 50-60 Union Jack flags. Then on the way back I went down Bury New Road, which has got the Jewish community right at its heart and they’re out on the streets, defiant, not hiding or in fear.
