EXPERTS SAY MORE ACTIVITY IS KEY TO TACKLE CITY'S WEIGHT CRISIS

A higher than average number of Coventry children are overweight
FORTY per cent of Coventry 10 and 11 year-olds are obese or overweight, figures from Coventry City Council have revealed.
Data from the One Coventry Plan Annual Performance Report released last month shows the figure rose ever so slightly this year, from 40.5 per cent in 2022/23 to 40.8 percent in 2023/24.
The information is gathered via the National Child Measurement Programme, which records children's measurements in Reception and again during Year 6.
