Councillors praise the success of social care programme
Coventry Telegraph
|October 30, 2025
A SCHEME streamlining access to elements of adult social care across Coventry has has been shortlisted for national awards as well as saving the city council £2m.
It has also been praised by councillors who said it had made a huge difference to those seeking help.
The Improving Lives programme was launched by the council in July 2024 and the director of care, health and housing, Pete Fahy, was at a meeting of the health and social care scrutiny board to give a 12-month update. He explained that the scheme integrated urgent response, therapy, adult social care and community services though integrated teams who prioritised supporting people at home, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions, and promoting independence.
