CITY CATHEDRAL VISIT FOR GERMAN PRESIDENT

COVENTRY welcomed German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Budenbender to the city as part of a poignant ceremony.

The visit is the first time in almost three decades a German leader has been to the UK.
Mr Steinmeier and Ms Budenbender toured the new cathedral, which was completed in 1962, and joined a prayer service highlighting the ministry's commitment to peace and reconciliation.
